The whelping box is located in our winter garden - here it is quieter as in the kitchen or living room, but still in close proximity to everything happening in the house. 

 

This location is very practical because you only need to open the sliding door and puppies can already run onto our terrace where they have a nice and cozy playground.

Raising the puppies in the most natural and species appropriate way is very important to me. It starts already during the pregnancy of an expectant dog mother - I pay close attention to her health, weight and needs. Mild stress may be important but in the last two weeks of pregnancy there is balanced and predictable everyday life.
